Tailor-made solutions for the most demanding handling projects
Our history
For more than 40 years, TECHMI has been designing and building high-performance, innovative and durable bulk material handling solutions. The company's history reflects a genuine family and industrial continuity, driven by a passion for the trade and a constant will to innovate.
The story begins in 1959 with the creation of TechniFrance, founded by two engineers in collaboration with Lucien Brunone, the leading installation contractor at the time. The company went on to design numerous crushing and screening installations across France.
Following the closure of TechniFrance, Lucien Brunone founded TECHMI in 1983 together with several former colleagues. His objective was clear: to put his expertise to work on ever more efficient installations.
A few years later, his son René Brunone joined the company as a fitter. Trained on the job, he progressively built up solid technical experience before founding, together with his wife Carole Brunone, the company R. BRUNONE. As a preferred subcontractor to TECHMI, they developed their expertise and deepened their mastery of industrial handling trades.
In 2000, René and Carole Brunone took over TECHMI and gave the company a new impetus. They chose to specialise in long-distance conveyors and placed innovation at the heart of their growth strategy.
This ambitious vision allowed TECHMI to reach several major milestones. In 2014, the company commissioned Europe's longest curved conveyor, spanning 6.2 kilometres. Ten years later, it passed the 150-kilometre mark for conveyors installed, confirming its status as a recognised specialist in bulk material handling.
In 2025, René and Carole passed the company on to two long-standing employees. This transition ensures the continuity of the values, expertise and spirit of innovation that have been TECHMI's strength since it was founded.
Today, TECHMI continues to grow in France and internationally with an ambition that remains unchanged: to design tailor-made, reliable and high-performance solutions suited to tomorrow's industrial challenges.
